I am super duper excited for the 10th of October to roll around so that I can be at Craft Hatch (a great monthly market run by Craft Victoria) in the city library in Flinders Lane hawking my wares.. I am going to go all out blatant self promotion for once.. I've had some display ideas (finally!) that I can hopefully execute well and am making some new stuff.. come along if you're in Melbourne or check out what you'll be missing out on here if you're not!

Scrabble in the Sun

These looks are not to be confused with boredom - they demonstrate the intense concentration that any scrabble player should adopt if wanting to be taken seriously or look like they know what they're doing!

I love the piles of debris strewn through my grandpa's property and the fact that he won't ever use any of it but hoards it all the same.

One of the up sides of being stuck in Auckland for 12 days!

The Tea Lady

My friend Karen took me out to the cutest little cafe I've been to in a while (in Auckland anyway!) - yum!

I went on an AMAZING op-shopping spree today in Highbury, but then had the task of cutting a whole lot of shoulder pads out of my new blouses and blazers.. not so fashionable when you're already blessed with wide shoulders!

My cousin Jasmine is one super talented lady! She's in the process of publishing her own book.. that she's written AND illustrated! Here are some of the sketches just back from the printer that I had the pleasure of seeing today, I am so proud of you Jaz!

A Feature (and a rant!)

Upon arriving in Auckland on Saturday night I was busting to get my hands on the latest issue of NO magazine which had this awesome feature on my work that you see just above.. I am so happy with the write-up.. being described as a 'cherry lipped, auburn haired professional knitter, sparkling with enthusiasm and brimming with ideas' feels pretty great! Thanks Alexandra and NO!

Just as an aside, I HATE HOSPITALS!! Why do they always leave you waiting around for hours without telling you what's going on? For the second time this year I was reduced to sobbing tears and starving hunger in a hospital waiting room. UNCOOL!!

oh dear!

It's official - I've become the kind of photographer I hate! I am hoping it's a phase brought on only by the happiness the onset of Spring gives me.. and my love of Kowhai trees in the dreariness of Auckland..

Twas lovely to have you stay Sarah!
