Glamour Shot! Clearly my raging feminism started at a young age.. I can think of no other reason why I would have wanted to pose in my bathers (yup, adjusting to stupid Australianisms!) on a steam roller wearing dad's ear muffs.. (that may/may not make proper sense.)
On a completely different note, I've completed all 10 lightbulb brooches, I should try and fit all my work into spheres 70mm in diameter, it takes a LOT less time!

Thought it was high time for a big fat touristy post.. We stumbled across Veg Out last night, a community garden complete with kitchen, individual plots (each with their own letterbox for communication purposes) studios, a market every month, bunnies, budgies and my favourite animals - guinea pigs! It was such a calming place, they've really got a good thing going..
And, lastly, I just couldn't resist - finally went to Luna Park in all it's rickety glory!

The evolution of a smaller lightbulb.. it's taken me a while to get the pattern right and I'm still not sure if it looks exactly like a lightbulb but at least it not more reminiscent of a chicken drumstick like my second attempt!
I'm working on these for an exhibition curated by two lovely ladies - Kim Brockett and Nella Themelios, that'll be on during Fashion Week in March and is titled Insert Coin Here. Keep your eyes peeled..

After a morning admiring the work of Ricky Swallow, the only exhibition where I've been overwhelmed by a desire to disobey the 'please do not touch' warnings the texture he can get with wood being THAT amazing, and the show 'Together Alone' showcasing garments by a group of well known NZ and Australian designers, such fantastic beading, sequinning, crochet and fabric printed to resemble the above image, I sat down to knit this wee whale..

This post has been brought on by the hours I've just spent this morning looking through copious amounts of beautiful photos from the two weddings I attended in December. This is my stunning cousin Alyssa on her wedding day, I wept like an absolute baby at the ceremony, it was so moving..
How awesome is my cousin? I just think these ribbons looked amazing, who needs shoes?
As I'm naturally a veeery sentimental person it all got me thinking about how we've all grown up so much, I mean when you watch someone you used to fit on a rocking horse with get married it really sinks in how fast time flies..
So cute!
And in the same vein, here I am on Christmas Day with two of my favourite people - my sis Lizzy and cousin Jasmine.
We've come a long way..
And lastly, my cousin Matt, who is here in Melbourne with his lovely girlfriend Charlotte and who I'm severely enjoying hanging out with was in fine form on Christmas Day..
And despite a brief period in our teens when he felt it his personal duty to torment me we have been close since the days when we found it amusing to pose like this in photos!
I love you all. I'll try not to post anything this cheesy for a while now.. can't promise anything though, it's just so tempting!

Awwww! (well, at least I think so..) I made this little guy this morning. I've had this super cute pattern book for super cute little creatures lying around for years so in the spirit of trying to do something new I've started to work my way through them. This one's official name is 'eee' because he's a 'spook', still disagree that he's cute? I hope not.
